When we need to figure out what’s wrong with your pet, we routinely use X-rays to help identify the cause of the problem, rule out possible problems, or provide a list of possible causes. X-rays may also be used to diagnose potential problems before they become serious.
Imaging such as x-rays or ultrasound, which allows diagnosis of conditions of the heart and lungs, gastrointestinal obstruction, tumors of the internal organs or bones, fluid in the chest or abdominal cavity, urinary stones or gallstones, reproductive diseases, and bone/joint disorders. To avoid a blurry image, pets need to remain completely still while an x-ray is taken. For most patients, gentle restraint can be used for these procedures, however, in some cases, sedation may be necessary.
We schedule radiographs with a local clinic, to use their radiology equipment. We can also schedule ultrasounds with a mobile radiologist.
