Preparing for Your Pet's Visit

We'll send forms to collect information about your pet and request records from previous veterinarians. If your pet has anxiety, please let us know so we can provide anti-anxiety medication to ensure a successful and stress-free visit. This helps us gather all the necessary information to keep your pet happy and healthy at home.
2

Arrival

If you have parking restrictions, please text us at 303-801-4766. We can either visit inside your home, typically using the kitchen area and sitting on the floor to be at your pet’s level or use our mobile veterinary clinic.
3

History and Examination

Our veterinary team will begin by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition, and your goals for the visit. Dr. Wilks will then examine your pet, ask additional questions, and may recommend diagnostic tests. After the tests are completed, we will discuss potential diagnoses and treatment plans.
4

Communication

This is a great time to ask questions. We want you to feel comfortable and be an active part of your pet’s healthcare team. You’ll receive an email with our care plan, estimates, and information on any diagnosis or care options. If you don't see the email, please check your spam folder, as it comes from a third-party site, and contact us if it’s missing.
5

Visit Wrap-Up

Our veterinary team will provide you with pet care information and answer any wellness questions. We accept various payment methods, including checks, credit cards, CareCredit, Sunbit financing, Venmo, and links for Apple and Google Pay. We'll also schedule any necessary follow-ups or set reminders in our system to contact you later.

Our Promise

Our goal is to see all clients and patients within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. However, weather, traffic, or unexpected issues may cause delays. We will attempt to text you if we're running late. Due to our small staff and mobile nature, we may not always answer calls or emails promptly. It's best to reach out via text to follow up if you don't hear from us.

Fear Free Certified

At Vista Paws Mobile Veterinary Services, we utilize Fear Free techniques as we are Fear Free trained Practitioners. With this technique, we may be required to regroup and rethink our plan of care to help your pet feel safe while also allowing us to do our jobs to the best of our ability. Please inform us at the time of booking your appointment if your pet has had stressful visits previously.

Telehealthcare

We will also be utilizing Telehealthcare when applicable, but in order to utilize this, we have to establish and maintain a Veterinary-Pet-Client Relationship, defined by Colorado State law as performing an initial physical exam and repeating that no less than every 12 months. Annual exams are also required for continued medication refills for both preventatives and prescriptions.

Easy Ways to Reach Us

Since we have a small staff, texting is our preferred method of communication as it can sometimes be hard for us to return phone calls as promptly as a text. The best way to reach us by text is our main line, 303-801-4766. However, you may receive some automatic replies and information directly from our software as well.
